Eva Salamanca-Ortega
Business and Community Associate
Eva was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Eva has always had a passion for working with children. Her first job as an educator was as a teacher assistant at her childhood elementary school. She is a firm believer that working with children makes her feel happier and keeps her younger.
Eva has been an employee of PS1 since 2006, she is an alumni parent and is currently the Business Office Associate. Prior to this role, she directed the PS1 aftercare and enrichment program. In 2010, Eva founded and developed Power Play Summer Camp, a safe and caring environment program where children are able to experience the power of play. In total she has over 22 years of experience working in the education field.
In 2018, after many years together, she married Pedro, PS1's Physical Education Specialist. Together they have 4 children, 3 of them are PS1 Alumni, and one is currently employed at PS1. During her time away from school, Eva loves getting together with her family, swimming, cooking, baking, attending sports events and visiting amusement parks.
