A campus for kids, a program for growth

The elementary years lay the foundation of who children become. We focus on them exclusively.

At PS1 we teach Kindergarten through 6th grade and nothing else, so every resource goes to these formative years.

With two full-time teachers in every classroom, the program is designed to support each phase of a child's growth: intellectually, socially, and emotionally. That builds the confidence, empathy, and skills that prepare them for middle school and beyond.

Seven years, seven jobs

Each year builds on the one before it. Nothing is a placeholder.

  1. Kindergarten

    Discovery

    Curiosity and wonder take center stage as children explore, play, and build foundational skills.

  2. 1st grade

    Confidence

    Students begin to see themselves as capable learners, gaining independence while still nurtured by older peers.

  3. 2nd grade

    Responsibility

    With a bridge year all their own, students step into greater ownership of their learning and strengthen their voice.

  4. 3rd grade

    Exploration

    Children dive deeper into academics and creativity, asking bigger questions and experimenting with ideas.

  5. 4th grade

    Collaboration

    Students hone teamwork and problem-solving, learning how to lead and contribute within groups.

  6. 5th grade

    Leadership in action

    As Olders, students mentor younger peers, lead seminar discussions, defend mathematical reasoning, and present to real audiences.

  7. 6th grade

    Leadership with purpose

    Graduates lead the whole school: planning events, speaking at Circle Times, and carrying their voice into middle school.

Teachers as guides

PS1 teachers are experts in early childhood development. Learning is child-centered, integrated, and project-based, and teachers act as facilitators who empower students to explore and discover.

A campus just for kids

PS1 is a place where kids get to be kids. The campus is intentionally designed for elementary students, giving them space to play, imagine, discover, and belong.
