A network built so that no student, teacher, or family is working the problem alone.
We are committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student.
The goal is to help children develop into motivated, engaged, independent, and confident learners within a collaborative, inquiry-based environment.
An integrated network of support for students, teachers, and families.
Together these educators partner with classroom teachers and the Head of School to design a learning environment that is both nurturing and challenging, meeting students where they are while helping them grow to their fullest potential.
Supporting students means supporting the adults around them. Parent education runs all year, sometimes as a guest expert on campus and sometimes as a small conversation.
Guest speakers have included Michael Thompson, Madeline Levine, Richard Louv, Lori Getz, Pattie Fitzgerald, and Yalda Uhls.
As a member of Common Sense Media's Connected Schools, PS1 also gives families trusted resources on technology, media use, and digital literacy. Partnerships with Private School Village and AXIS add community-wide workshops and facilitated conversations on equity, identity, and belonging.
