Yes, PS1 accepts cryptocurrency
A donation supports innovative education that fosters curiosity and individuality.
PS1 is an inclusive community that enables children to be their authentic selves.
Our programs and curriculum support innovative technology and project-based learning, which helps students become creative problem solvers. We believe everyone benefits from diversity, and we are proud that around a third of students receive tuition assistance.
How the tax treatment works
The IRS classifies cryptocurrency as property, so donations to 501(c)(3) charities receive the same treatment as gifts of stock. Donating cryptocurrency is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes.
PS1 cannot give tax advice. Please contact your own tax or financial advisor for guidance on your situation.
Gift acceptance requirements
In accordance with PS1's Gift Acceptance Policy, all contributions of cryptocurrency are converted to cash immediately upon acceptance and cannot be refunded for any reason.
While we are happy to honor requests for anonymity, PS1 is required by law to identify all donors who make a charitable contribution.
Which currencies to send
Please only send currencies listed on the donation widget. Unsupported currencies, including unsupported ERC-20, ERC-721, and BEP-20 tokens, may be lost.
