Board of Directors

Each Director actively promotes PS1 and is accountable for its financial and strategic future.

What is the role of the Board?

The Board oversees long-range strategic planning, takes primary responsibility for the preservation and growth of capital assets and endowments, approves the annual operating budget, and participates actively in fundraising in a leadership capacity. Directors serve as fiduciaries of the school.

How does the Board work with the school administration?

The Head of School reports to the Board as a whole, not to individual Directors. The Board is responsible for hiring, setting compensation for, and evaluating the Head of School.

The Board has no oversight over any other administrators or employees and is not involved in day-to-day management. Some administrators, such as the Director of Finance or the Director of Advancement, may work with Board committees in an advisory capacity.
