Chris Kuzina

Christopher is starting his twenty-seventh year at PS1 Pluralistic School and his ninth year as Director of The Studio. He is a 1995 Buffalo State College graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and a 1997 Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York. Chris started his educational career teaching in the West Seneca School District in Buffalo and served with AmeriCorps; a voluntary civil society program supported by the U.S. federal government, foundations, corporations, and engaging adults in public service work with a goal of "helping others and meeting critical needs in the community." In 1997 he moved to Southern California. His many interests include running, walking with his dog, hiking and loves watching the Buffalo Bills. Chris also enjoys science fiction, art, music, building, and coaching his son's FNL team. He has a wife Kate, a daughter, Riley, and two sons, Benjamin and Ford. Chris participates in the ongoing professional development of STEAM practices and school-wide project initiatives. He works with students and teachers in interdisciplinary/cross-curricular projects. He keeps abreast of relevant pedagogy, strategies, and technologies, and continually engages in learning, self-improvement, and exploration through technology which includes design, engineering, 3D printing, coding, robotics, textiles and multimedia tools.
