Susannah Wolf

Susannah came to PS1 in 2023 with a commitment to child-centered schools. She believes that schools should create environments for students to be known and cared for as individuals, offer opportunities to develop a sense of independence, responsibility, and agency as they grow to understand themselves, and where there is deep engagement in learning that leads to strong skills, curiosity, and creativity. She earned her B.A. in History at the University of Chicago and her M.S. in Elementary Education at Bank Street College of Education. Prior to her eight years as Head of School at The Miquon School in Philadelphia, Susannah served as a Math Curriculum Coordinator, a Middle School math teacher, and an elementary school classroom teacher. She moved to Santa Monica with her husband and two sons, both of whom are off in college, and is so excited to discover the mountains, the beaches, and everything in between. When she is not at school, you can find Susannah hiking, baking, reading, and playing board games.
