Deirdre Gainor
Director
Deirdre Gainor joined the Board in 2025. She is a PS1 alumni parent, teacher and administrator. Deirdre recently stepped down from her position as Director of Teaching and Learning at PS1 where she enjoyed the wonderful work of developing and coordinating curriculum with the PS1 faculty and staff. Deirdre started her professional life as a teacher in Canada. She pivoted after moving to the United States and produced two independent films before becoming a mother. Moving back into the educational world she has held many positions at both public and private schools in the LA area and used her producing skills to help start and grow two girls' schools, The Archer School for Girls and Girls Athletic Leadership School. Deirdre holds a B.A. from Brigham Young University, a Master's in Education from The University of Alberta in Calgary, Canada and a Master's in Fine Arts from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky.
